Important note: if the calendar below does not appear, please ensure you are signed in to Notion (for 42 students using your student email address), preferably on the mobile app.

Almost all equipment and resources in the lab can be booked in advance and members who book get priority. Booking is mandatory for the 3D printers and Laser Cutter, which are often in high demand. Please be aware that some equipment requires training and special permission by managers to use. This is indicated by the check box on its page.

Creating a Booking

The procedure is as follows:

• If you don’t see a template for your item, choose the “Booking” entry (the first item) and on the page that opens, click on “Empty” in the Resource section and select/search for your item there instead.
• In the calendar below, click the blue dropdown arrow (to the right of the New button) and choose the entry for the item you would like to book (only the most popular items are listed).
• Now select a date and time, making sure the “End date” and “Include time” buttons are switched on (below the mini-calendar). Bookings without an end-date or time will not be considered valid.
• Once this has been done, the booking is made and you can simply click anywhere outside of the page to close it. To confirm it has been made correctly, look for it in the calendar or click the “Upcoming” tab to see it in full.

Note: If you are unsure what the piece of equipment you want to book is called, you can always search for it using its 4-character short code (labelled in white on each piece of equipment).
