Using the lab after having graduated is covered by this section of the 42 house rules. This page expands on those rules, for greater clarity about how things work in practice. Despite the technicalities below, we are friendly and keen to have you use and contribute to the space - just reach out to us on Slack 👋🏻

The Basics

• Using the FabLab as a 42 Alumni is decided on a case-by-case basis by the lab management team
• It is dependent on having a time-limited project that also benefits the lab and school. Please reach out early to discuss your ideas to give us time to decide
• You will need to complete a lab onboarding session if you haven't in the last 6 months to renew your agreement to the lab terms and conditions. This includes holding valid personal liability insurance
• We reserve the right to revoke lab access at any time for any reason

Access

Access is generally in line with the rest of the campus, with some important differences:

• As you will not have general building access, lab access is via the doorbell only
• The lab is typically open longer than the ground floor. In this case, once the ground floor closes you should:
  • Access the bathrooms over at Workish using the external fob
  • Not visit any other part of the building other than the rooms of the FabLab
