Main House Rules

  1. Work safely. Your health and that of other members is most important.
  2. Before using the lab, every member needs to join a safety and onboarding session.
  3. The last person leaving the room is responsible to turn off the lights, close the windows and doors. Forcefully opening doors is prohibited.
  4. All tools must remain in the FabLab and must be returned to their place after usage.
  5. Defective tools and machines must not be used. Any defects must be reported to staff (on site or via [email protected]).
  6. Follow the “fair use” principle, ie. don’t occupy machines for (commercial) mass production.
  7. Access to the FabLab is restricted to members. Guests generally have no access to the FabLab. However, guests may be granted consent to access if the customer has previously registered the guest at the 42 Berlin or workish.berlin front desk and equipped with a visitor badge. She/he is not allowed to work in the FabLab and must be in the same room as the member at all times.
  8. Unmarked things lying around will be disposed or used as a donation.
  9. Smoking, alcohol and other drugs are prohibited in the FabLab.
  10. Do not dispose of food waste or large packages in the FabLab. The bins are not regularly cleaned.
  11. Animals are not allowed in the FabLab.

Safety

Safety for members and staff is our number one priority. Each member agrees to abide by the following safety & conduct rules:

  1. You are not allowed to work in the FabLab alone. There must be always at least two people in the Lab, where the other person is typically an admin or manager.
  2. Wear closed-toe shoes at all times in the FabLab.
